Default Volvo 940 GL 1992 Estate Rattles?

I am getting rattles from what appears to be behind the pillar that the rear n/s safety belt emerges from, when travelling over rough roads. Has anyone experienced this before.

Also I get a clunk from inside the front n/s door when the front o/s electric window is raised or lowered. Wondered if the window motor ever becomes loose?

Hi, dont know it this will help, but there is a 1/2" metal pipe for the aft sunroof drains running down through the C pillar on estate cars. If this is loose, it could rattle. If you are removing the carpeted panels in the boot area to check the lower area, note that the panel is slid forwards, not up , to remove. I have also noted that the LH and RH rear seatbelt buckle clips can rattle against thr door trim. To check this, buckle belt to centre with no one in rear of car.

Most likely to be the rear seat belt reels having worked a bit loose. They are held by one bolt. The clunk could well be the fixing screws for the winder mechanism also working loose. Occasionally the plastic (nylon) guides in the grooves get out of line and cause the mechanism to move against the inner door panel.

All the best, Peter.
