Grom or parrot add ons if you want bluetooth, you cannot change the stereo itself. Not sure if dealer can retro fit bluetooth, but on that year its phone calls only, no music streaming im afraid.

Yep if it's anything like the 09 V70 I have with the floating dash, the Main Dealer told me Volvo can't retrofit bluetooth so if you were to order from them, they would fit a Parrot bluetooth.
Worth checking to see if they can retro fit a USB or aux port however? I use them almost exclusively for music.

Mine has the Volvo Bluetooth kit fitted to the dash, back in 2008 it was the only way to have Bluetooth on a P3. It also has an iPod and USB lead though I don't know where it came from or who installed it. Works though and has full functionality through the head unit and great sound

Bluepower have done units for other models and may make something for our platform, but it is expensive (around £600) and does not replace the Volvo head unit, but instead you insert another in the glovebox which sort of piggy backs off the Volvo one.
I see no reason why the Bluetooth kit could not be retrofitted, other than due to the massive complexity/cost! (I reckon at the very least you would need a new stereo, button for the dash, microphone, steering wheel and a software upgrade. Thats if all the necessary wiring is in place!) |
