Default P1880 coin tray

Hi

Can anyone tell me when these became an optional extra on the P1800 models. I have been told around 67.

Hi Clive,
Hope all good with you.
No expert but from what I have read you appear right and they did a short period run from '67 to '69 I believe before going over to the lockable boxy type ones.

I have a coin holder from one of Gordon Hunters recent goody bag sales and have been looking for the bracket but as yet with no success as want to fit to my '68 P1800.

The following links show the coin holder and bracket from a p1800 but having been put into an Amazon.
Don't know how to put pics on here yet doh!!
Will try work out how some day ",)

Hi Steve. I like the look of it and it is very useful. Sounds like they are quite rare. Apologies to all the 1800 guys for not having one in its proper home. But hey, its the next best thing, right?

Totally agree Alf,
Looks great in yours and looking forward to fitting mine. Might have to get creative with the mounting bracket mind as cannot find one anywhere but in no rush so will keep looking. Noticed your carpets Alf where did you source them from they look very nice quality finish and like the red, wanting to replace my black carpets for red.
Steve.

Many discussions on here about the carpets. Have a search and you should find out good info which may be of use. I got mine from Brookhouse. Came with underlay and I am very happy with them. Easy to fit and sets off the interior nicely.

With regard to posting pics from photobucket you are almost there. You will see that each pic has options for copying. One of them is into forums. Once you click that option you can then copy the link into the post. It should show the pic when you preview the post. Have a try and see how it goes.
Hugh.

I never realised these coin trays were only fitted to a few years. I thought they were fitted right up until the centre console came in around 1970.
It is handy but the centre consoles better. I have one to fit but it doesnt sit so well in a earlier (67) car. Expect it may be todo with the change in gearbox and a bigger tunnel to suit.
