123 GT seat belts
Hello,
As a new member of this forum, please excuse any mistakes. I have been searching threads for a set of grey static seat belts for my newly repatriated 123GT. Or a set of inertia reel belts, if you guys think that's the best way. Thanks in advance, Brian Hill,...Stourport on Severn. |

Hi and welcome!
Seatbelt style depends on the model year, rather than the specification - 123GT sealbelts would be identical to those fitted to a 121 or a 122S of the same model year. I mention this since some sellers on places such as ebay think that a part being '123GT' suddenly makes it very valuable... Just searching for Volvo Amazon fitment belts should help you find what you are after. Note that there are two main types - the earlier ones used a central loop to clip the belts and the later style had a lever released socket & more conventional type clasps. I'm pretty sure that all 123GTs would have originally had the later type. Be patient and keep an eye out on ebay and here for a set. What is important is that the fittings are ok - if damaged, the webbing can easily be redone by a company such as http://www.quickfitsbs.com/ They can also supply classic looking inertia belts too. Opinion is divided as to whether the original static belts or inertias are better. I personally prefer the original statics but then I have never owned a car with inertia belts. Oh, and please do start a thread in the main section to tell us more about your car

123 GT seat belts
Thanks for that, Paul.
My car does, indeed, have the later type centre fittings, although the little red knobs are missing. The webbing is very frayed and needs replacing. I will keep an eye on eBay as you suggest. Brian. |

Thanks,
I am nowhere near you, but would love a set of belts. I have no idea what would be a reasonable offer, give me a clue, will you, and how much for postage? Regards, Brian. |

Sorry I hang on to all that type to fit myself Hence why I have spares as I always take them out the standard ones That is inertia reels are the best to use in my view less restricting from my own experience when driving , plus a modern standard to be safer with. . Kind regards Robert.w
