Better than a panda!
Hi
I grew up thinking that all police cars were volvos, this article probably explains it. http://www.hants.gov.uk/hchs/240.html (If someone can explain to me how to insert links then this might be easier all round) |

obviously these things are easier than I thought, it worked anyway. now I need to work why my pictures read sigpic:sigpic rather than being visions of volvo lovelyness.

They started to change to Sierra's very shortly before I joined in '92. All you heard for the next few years was "Why did they stop making them Volvo's!!!" lol

That's my Ex-Hampshire T5 when it was used in the force - well not exactly 'mine' - it was a year younger but exactly the same model.

Erling, nice photo. Did the Norwegian police cars have the same boot lid handle as your own car?, the ones the Swedish police used for handcuffing drunks to ( so you told us when we were in Stavanger ! )

They sure did, Richard. "The drunkard handle" was a standard item for the police 240s. I bet the older policemen miss them on the newer cars! Here's mine; an original accessory rarely seen on civilian cars:
