Default Thule Roof Bars

Just looking at getting some roof bars for the XC90. Mine has the flush fitting rails but undecided between the standard wing bar or the wing bar edge. Does anyone have any experience of either?

Not sure what you mean by wing bar and wing bar edge, but:

Thule aero bars vs the standard box section ones, I would say aero every time. The t-track system on the aero bars is very convenient and they are a lot quieter - just as long as you remember to keep the rubber fitted in the t-track.

The standard wing bar:

The wing bar edge:

To me the edge version looks better but it doesn't seem to be as practicle as the standard wing bar.

From a practical point of view the top one is better. Means you can get sheet material on the roof on your own. Also gives more protection to the car with other items as well when getting them up on the roof. Especially if you are short. New XC90 is a very high car and the running boards aren't as functional as the original XC90's

I've decided on the top ones, although I've purchased the three parts from separate places saving around £50.
