Here are some pictures as promised.

Showing PEM in location:

20151215_124421.jpg Picture KEEPS coming in upside down! I am not uploading an upsidedamndown picture!

PEM removed from bracket, there are 4 clips which lock the PEM in on tapered lugs, to remove you simply push the clips back and it slides down (they are a bit stiff now and don't lock very well - a cable tie round the lot get it some security):

Verdigris on the plug:

Looking dodgy:

The new one (From Evolv Volvo breakers):

I will do a post showing the relocation if I get round to it.

It has been running yes, not yet surpassed the original period it 'appeared' fixed the first time - I am only using it on non critical journeys that if I get a bit stranded I am not hugely put out - decent lengths right enough, did 50 miles on Thursday and lots of short stop starts following that. Used it once on Friday for 2 short journeys and didn't use it today. Even some idling will help me tell.

Always suspected fuel system on this one, first thoughts were pump, but I then figured since it ran it must be the sensor, which I changed...

I had not yet come across the PEM so thanks!

Looking at the PEM, I do suspect it was the PEM!

So yes points to you 4Candles!

I saw it down there before and remember thinking, jee, I hope that part isn't too important because it's asking to get soaked!

I thought it was to do with the sensors on my suspension! I am a little surprised at Volvo's choice of location here!

Yeah sort of, more beside it, it sits just to the side of the fuel pump (inward on the body rail, you are almost sitting on it if you sit on drivers side rear seat) the unit sits with it's plug facing downwards.

No the image is 180° out, I uploaded it 3 times and it keeps self rotating.

That should say, "...just to the side of the fuel filter..."!

Still starting and running properly. Will think about relocating it soon - just need a plan and some time.
