Default Alarm siren

Hello all

I've had the alarm siren message since I owned the car but haven't sorted it yet. Today the alarm went off with the siren blaring. Does this mean I just need to replace the battery in my unit and the board is OK ? Or a new unit ? Just its a bit hard to do the work at the mo with only one arm but Hoping to sort it after Christmas

Dave

More than likely the battery has leaked. You might be very lucky if or when you open it up.
For the moment you can pull the alarm fuse. The remote will still work and the led flash and the intrusion system will set and trigger but with no sound.

I would remove the siren module and check the condition of the pcb before optimistically ordering a new battery like what I did.
