He-he I was afflicted by Land rovers for many years and have built them from scratch
Joke - Why do so many Land Rover drivers have beards ?
Don't know ,but I think they were clean shaven when they set off !!

Default v70

Price wise these cars of that vintage are worth about £1000 tops in the current very oversupplied second hand car market .And also I would not set too much store on service history ,I have bought cars with stamps etc .,but still full of faults .Servicing only covers what it says on the service sheet ,change oil, service door locks ,and such rubbish .
Faults may well have been pointed out to the owner ,but he has chosen not to do anything .
If i was buying a car ,supposed to be in working order(I usually buy spares or repair or end of test, then overhaul)I would take it to a test station and have it tested at my own expense .the test is so comprehensive now that it picks up almost any faults ,Brakes ,ABS ,suspension ,emissions etc etc .It puts you in an excellent negotiating position over an y faults revealed ,and it is impartial. If the owner won't consent then walk away .If it passes you have a shiny new test for the year !

My real story is a bit different. Volvo are more solid and will require less repairs than an Audi, Mercedes and Bmw with the same miles. But a 150k car is a vehicle that will keep need repairs some of which are costly.

There are situations when someone is buying a 150k miles car from a owner that has put lots of money on it and done most repairs. Then yes, it's a relatively good buy and might run for quite a while for cheap. Such situations are rather rare though.

I bought mine from the first owner (older person) with 100k miles. It was maintained by the Volvo dealer. I had to replace the shock absorbers, spring seats, wishbones, fan blower, vvt valve, DIM cluster, radiator fan module, driver's door handle (whole board), a/c shims, a/c thermistor, $100 thermostat, steering pump, alarm module. It is not much and the first owner did other repairs but this is just at 100k miles.
Have to agree with our Canadian friend here. Although a D5 with 150k miles will still go and perform quite admirably, it has got to be a teeny weeny tired by then, and will not be as good as a car thats the same age with, let's say half as many miles on.

My S60 is approaching 140,000 and I know there are areas on the car that are tired and worn out, engine, gearbox however are still going strong.
Clutch is worn and suspension starting to knock a little and there is some serious wear on one of the drive shafts or cv joints.

My v70 is at 120,000 doesn't do many miles but again engine and gearbox good it's the rest of it showing its age. Both cars main dealer service up until 100,000
