Alright my lovers,

Just bought a new Stromberg 175 CD carb...



"Stromberg CD175 carburettor never been used. Still in the Stromberg bags."

Mmmmm Shiney!!

Now, i want to replace my air filter...



..for summit less fugly, maybe summit chromey and shiney, mor like this:

What about a ram pipe? Nice and shiny, nice and cheap, nice and long lasting (forever), nice and noisy.

Wondered that myself, got the same gert big plastic carbuncle. Thought maybe the GT6 lot or similar might have a shiney-shiney option. Couldn't find any pix though,

There are different kinds of ram pipe.
Some have wire gauze over the end of the trumpet to prevent gunk getting into your motor. But if your not bothered about having a few insects, etc in there, then the open ended type are more free flowing.
Burlen fuel systems (use google) will sell you either.
If you want a replacement kettle type air filter box (as you already have) I have one in the loft.

A ram pipe is supposed to imrove air flow into the carb mouth. It does this by means of raidus rather than the sharp corner onthe carb face. Not all ram pips actualy give better flow. Choose wisely - search on the subject first.
