That looks either damaged or corroded to me. I cannot imagine Volvo would go to the expense of putting a dummy socket on the loom, the logistics of getting the right socket on the right loom for a given spec would be uneconomical and for what purpose. Far better to fit standard sockets and eliminate any differences. If you have the three wires going into the back of the socket, I think the best solution is to get new sockets and solder them onto the loom and start afresh.

Just an update

I've sorted the problem out it was the sockets that were the problem! New ones fitted and new blades on order from FRF Swansea.

Looks like the passenger side motor is no good though so wondering if anyone might have one kicking about that works???

Have a couple of motors, but need to check them again and also see what side they are. Will let you know if it is an NSF one

Found two driver's ones...... I am pretty certain I have a passengers too, so I need to keep looking. Will let you know the minute I find it, (or not find it)
