Default Spring has fallen on my foot whilst driving

Driving to work this morning and a spring fell onto my left foot, clutch has been a bit temperamental for a week or so,

Any one any ideas, someone suggested it may go back and others suggested a new clutch pedal

You can order a new one but it's a pain in the bottom to re-fit.

Far as I can see the spring just pushes the pedal up that little bit further at the end of upward travel.

Clutch worked fine without it when it happend to mine years ago, infact 'clutch feel' was more consistent without it (guess it'd been on the verge of breaking for a good while).

I wouldn't worry about it. I forgot it had even happend after many months of continued use.

Any idea how much these cost?

So I take it you could re fit it to yours or gave up? How long did you drive without it?

Guy at the garage this afternoon said clutch would burn out after a while if left without it.

Sorry I don't know the cost. I just left it in the end... spring fell out around 120,000 miles... no issues from it and I eventually sold the car at 146,000.

Have a read of this older thread... details the issue pretty well:

V50 General: - Broken clutch pedal return spring !! £175!!!
