Default 2004 V70R - TCV question

All,

Does someone have a proper information on the Pierburg TCVs? My one seems to be dead/failing and have a spare unit from another Volvo.

Based on the info can be found on the web there is a heavy duty unit available from ARD http://www.ardideas.com/Turbo-Contro...rg_p_2180.html
The unit number on this is HD TCV: PA6-GF30<6.
The spare one I have: PA6-GF30<5
Would the spare work with my R?
Obviously I can swap and try it, however it would be nice to know in advance.

Thanks in advance!

Its common not to bother with so called after market/uprated TCVs (over priced solenoids that are not heavy duty at all).

Its regarded best practice to replace with a an OEM Volvo peirburg item (circa £45) every couple of years.

It's way too important a part to take a chance on something that might be ok.

As stated already, buy a new genuine part.

Dodgy tcv's on p2r's may well lead to a split liner.....
