Default Engine change, easy or not?

I'm missing the power I had in my V50 T5 since I got my S60 2.0T. I've found a complete S60 T5 for sale and I wondered if it might be possible to drop in the whole engine and gearbox as one lump. Apart from the problems I'd get from the DVLA are there any reasons this idea wouldn't work? Knowing Volvo I'm sure it won't be straightforward but I've looked at the engine tuning options and the results don't seem very impressive for the 2.0T engine. Any ideas?

It would make more sense to keep the T5 to me, if that's what you want.

However, if they are both the same age, you could probably swap all the ECU's from one car to the other so the T5 computer system is intact.

I don't know if it would work (suspect not) if you just swapped the engine and engine ECU.

I can understand why you'd want to do this.... My S60 2.0T has a VERY nice spec...I couldn't find any T5's with the same amount of kit at the time so I settled with a 2.0T.

Having owned a S40 T5 a few years ago, the 2.0T feels a bit slower but NOT that much slower than the 220bhp 2.5 T5.

Remap the 2.0T to 227bhp/320NM and from what I've seen it'll go just as fast as the V50 T5.

I count 16 seconds to 160km/h which is identical the Focus ST/S40/V50

Obviously a remapped 2.4 T5 from the S60 would be exceptionally quick expecially at the top end!

The T5 engine I found is from a 2001 S60 so it's nearly 3 years older than mine. Also, I like the colour and spec of mine but it could benefit from a bit more oomph. Maybe I'll look again at the tuning option, any recommendations?
