Default Brake disc & pads

I'm looking to fit replacement discs and pads to my phase 1 '98 1.8 S40, hopefully to give it a little sharper braking (not looking for F1 type brake performance, just to lose the spongynes etc).

Can anyone recommend makes etc of which pads & discs to fit, also considering fitting braided brake lines, so if anyone has advice on those it'd be great too.

Fit bendix pads not sure where you are but I have fitted them for years and highly recommend them.

I've used Mintex "C-Tech" pads on Volvo discs. They did offer slightly better braking during hard use, but the improvement was marginal...guess that's all you can expect from a pad upgrade only. Ferodo DS2500s seem to be a more popular choice however on 850s/V70s.

Without stating the bleeding obvious (sorry) try replacing the fluid. I use Castrol Super DOT4 (I think), and am happy with the response and feel.

I fitted Black diamond grooved discs with EBC green stuff pads, worked very well at the Ring this year, they do tend to vibtrate if you don't get them hot enough though!!!
