Perhaps another cheap option would be to buy from the breakers - hopping it's made of quality bushes. With some luck you may even get some originals that were recently installed.

You should know when your wishbone bushes are, er, bushed,
you will hear clunks perhaps, certainly a disconnected wandering feel and excess torque steer,

If you have none of these symptoms, most likely Volvo were just trying to fleece you as per...

That reminds me - a local breaker does have a 2002 V70 (that's where I got my air con compressor a few weeks back)... I'll call them tomorrow.

€40 each from that breaker. He doesn't know the mileage on the breaking car, but casually said it could be 80k or more, and suggested that the ones on my car are unlikely to be the from-new OEs.

I imagine my LCAs/bushes are the OEs that have been on the car from new, but I've no way to tell.

NCT is Wednesday week, so I'll probably leave the LCAs and see what they say, particularly in light of the incompetence/deceitfulness (on another issue) of the dealer that advised me the LCAs need replacing. The outcome of the NCT will probably dictate other stuff I need to address.
