Default meanig of symbols

I don't have my volvo book to hand, but i was driving a long and a light flashed on my dashed board and disappeared. I did not know what i meant but it only appeared when i went around a corner. But this only happened once.

The symbol is a red symbol, with a red outer circle and an exclamation mark in the centre. i think. Only saw it briefly.

I have a volvo s40, 2000 saloon W reg.

can someone look up the symbol, or any thing which looks similar please tell me what it means.

It appeared along the bottom, to the right of the symbol which appears when you put the hand brake on. Which is a red circle with a red P in the middle.

thanks

Hi,

Likely to be the brake warning light if I remember, so I would check/top up your brake fluid.

Just going to make sure though..

EDIT: My manual says "Brake Circuit Failure", so the advice above stands. Check the fluid level.

Des. . .

Checked the manual for mine (2000 S40 W reg) the book says "Brake circuit not working (brake fluid too low) and EBD"

As it's coming on when you corner I'd follow Des's advice and check the fluid level - bear in mind the the clutch shares the reservoir.......
