Interesting 740 saloon for sale.

I thought forum members, especially 740 enthusiasts, might find this ad' interesting - I don't know the car.

Looks nice, but I can't take him seriously after the 7.4 0-60 claim.

Just read the advert and have asked how is it that his wrapped in cotton wool unmolested 740 is doing an alleged 7.4secs.
I suggested he must have either made a mistake with Ad or he's put a massive turbo on it and it's not the car he is describing.
Thought it might be fun to prod him a bit.
Doubt he will reply or it was just a mistake but considering the length of Ad and time and effort he put into writing it surely he would have read it through as he is trying to sell it as a time warp classic blah blah blah.
I'llost his reply if any.

In his defence I suppose 7.4 sounds a lot like 11.4 hahah(that's a lot closer to the truth in my eyes)

What Insurance company will agree that value, or is it a value he has put on it.
With 106262 miles.....WOW

This will be one of those vehicles that have been found in some poor widows garage. Then washed, waxed and had a quick valet and made out to be the holy grail of all vehicles.

Had a good chuckle at this ad too...where do these people come from!!??

The statements that cracked me up most...

"every chauffeur seems to remember driving a 740"

"I often visit classic car showrooms and everyone agrees that these cars will suddenly be £10k classics"

"they'd never leave you stranded in the desert"

"It really is like cruising round in a Swedish hotel lobby"

Someone needs to inform him that there are one owner proper low mileage original cars still about and coming available on an occassional basis, and for less than 2 grand at that.

should probably have the correct wheels on it if he wants that kind of price, looks like its wearing adharas off a 940 at the moment. The price for cars from the early/mid 90s seems to of rocketed, most are total heaps yet people on ebay and now elsewhere try their luck.
