Default noisy vacuum pump

Hi All,
could use some help!
I have a low mileage 1980 Volvo Bertone Coupe 262C B28F V/6.
After it warms up there are 2 noises, 1st a high pitch sound from the vacuum pump area, fairly steady. Later there is a louder "clanging" noise that can be controlled by removing one of the vacuum hoses. When you remove the hose the clanging stops. Covering the connecting tube with a finger causes the clatter to return. Mechanic installed a tune-up replacement valve kit (Bilstein)for the pump. Noise came back within a few minutes.

Otherwise engine is strong and there is no valve chatter.

The car is older than most of the mechanics @ the Volvo dealer.
Apparently none have worked on a Bertone 262C B28F V/6 before.

Any suggestions,

helpless in Ottawa, Canada

Default Hi There

My names Jen and I live in the UK, I'm afraid I cant answer your question but I am hoping you can answer mine. I am having a 262c restored (a bertone silver/black edition) This is my first time sending a message, and I would appreciate it if you could advise me as the 262c uses leaded petrol, what suitable fuel additive I could use.
