Question Steering rack part number help please

Hopefully somebody can help me

I have a 2005 v70 D5 SE - Facelift verision so it has the old type suspension

It has an issue with the steering rack in that it is leaking quite badly from the steering shaft input

However I am unable to identify the part number for the rack as there doesn't seem to be any sticker with a part number on it

I assume that the rack may have been replaced in the past with a refurb rack that's gone bad

Can anybody let me know the part number for this rack so I can get another to fit

From what I have read and checked I believe my rack to be the ZF type as it has 2.75 turns lock to lock

I don't want to have to change the plumbing or input shaft ( from what I have read)

I am looking to but a rack and then just replace what I have

As far as I can see I don't have the speed sensitive type rack

Can anyone help me before I drain. The worlds supply of power steering fluid

Crapsticks, i thought I had the new type suspension LOL

And draining, just discreetly do it over a drain grill, the correct fluid is green i believe so your absolutely Aok with SEPA and any lazy
council operative looking your way, lol

Ain't got a clue re. part numbers, sorry.

From what I have been told that because my rack is 2.75 turns lock to lock it is a ZF rack but according to euro car parts my rack is a SMI unit

Is there any way to identify the rack type without the part number sticker?

The boot on the inner track/steering tie rod may have SMI embossed on the rubber.
This inability to identify the racks is a recurring issue.
If it's any help mine has SMI on the boot and takes the shorter tie rod with the finer pitch thread into the rack.
The reason I know about long and short tie rod ends is that my usually reliable factor was certain he had supplied the right parts, long and coarse thread, for my car. The catalogue said so

Theoretically Jan 2003 onwards is ZF.
Earlier is SMI.
