Default Will they fit?

I am collecting my new V40 R Design next week to replace my 2005MY V70 that was written off a couple of weeks ago buy a **** hit & run driver!

The V40 has 18" rims on it but I have an old set of 17" alloys with new winter tyres that were purchased just last month (225/45/17).

Does anyone know if the wheels will fit the V40, and if so I read somewhere in the online manual about an issue fitting non-authorised wheel/tyre sizes as it affects one of the electronic functions (can't remember if it was lane guidance, ACC or Queue Assist!) - will this be a problem?

Your new V40 will have a tyre pressure monitor,so you need to fit wheels that are compatible with this.

I checked the website and it gave a 3mm difference between the tyre circumference, well within the recommended tolerance, thanks for the link.

It does have the tyre pressure monitor, I hadn't thought about that. What happens if I fit the wheels without the senders, do I just get a warning?

It depends what TPMS system you have,

Do you have silver metal valves or normal black rubber valves??

If you have metal valves then you will get a warning light come up,

If you have rubber valves then TPMS works off abs system working out rolling circumference of wheels to monitor pressures,

The stud patterns same but you will just have to check centre bore of wheels as the older s60's were volvo and the new V40's are still ford based

Think it was from week 20 2014 that they now come with TPMS,

So some 14MY cars have it some don't,
