Unhappy DEM Module / AOC Pump

Hi. Hoping someone can help. Have Anti Skid Service light and no AWD on 06XC90 - now effectively an XC45.

Having taken to Volvo and £260 later for diagnostics - and making sure wiring intact, they have said it is either the DEM module or the AOC pump or both!! DEM is c£1,400 and AOC is c£900! Great. I have read that you can get the DEM modules re-conditioned, @c£200, but car has to be off the road whilst sent away and Volvo have to re-set the software. Not sure about the pump. Have also read somewhere that these parts are in common with VWAG units.

Has anyone encountered any similar problems and any good ideas. Any help much appreciated.

The only firm I know that can repair are these.

The problem can be the pump has shorted out then burns out the DEM pcb.

You need to test the pump is ok before you plug it back in.

I've posted loads on this so just do a search of the forum. BBA reman do a recon of this unit so you don't need to pay the volvo dealer crazy money. The software won't need reloading its plug and play functionality. Makes me even more convinced that there was a known faulty batch of these units fitted to 06/07 year cars but they won;t admit it.

Default Thanks

Thanks bobdabuilda and harveys.

So sounds like first get the pump checked out and then the DEM in that order

Yup, BBA Reman will also test the unit first for you.

I'd also be querying exactly what you got from the dealer for £220.... seems a long time to plug a VIDA in.
