  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Question speedo problems

just recently the speedo on my 97 t/d s40 started playing up, somedays it was fine other days it was intermittant, now its stopped working altogether, any suggestions as to where i should start to look 1st, its a digital clock so no speedo cable.where does it pick its info up from, is there a sender unit etc that i should check etc etc, any ideas would be gratefully received

Default speed sensor

to gain access to the speed sensor, remove the air filter housing, and you will then see the sensor on top of the gearbox, check the connecting plug for security.
it could also be the connector plug has come loose behind the speed itself.
