I've recently bought a C70 hard top convertible year 2006 that has a malfunctioning amplifier. The previous owner showed me a dianostic test result confirming this and out of curiosity I opened the old broken amp in an attempt to find out why. So I'm fairly sure water damage has caused the problem so it's clear a replacement is needed.
I wanted to ask if replacing the amp is as simple as finding an equivalent on eBay and fitting the replacement. My concern is that in-car entertainment usually has some level of anti-theft protection and a main dealership may need program activate the replacement system. Can anyone advise me on the best way to approach this? Ideally if I can get away with it, the cheaper 2nd hand unit and to fit myself would be preferred but I'm skeptical if it will work. |
