Foglights Don't Work
Hi guys,
The foglights on my 1998 S40 T4 do not work both front and rear. The fuses are ok, there is a feed in and out of the switch and a feed going into the relay which is located behined the dash panel, but nothing coming out of it. So I replaced the relay unit brand new from volvo - Still no foglights working front or rear... Any Ideas?? |

foglight relay
as you say,you have checked the switch, and you have a feed up to the new relay you fitted, but not out of the other side, i would suspect a broken or corroded circuit on the back of the fuse/relay box, or a wire thats parted on one of the relay socket connections, you seem to have checked everything else that could cause this malfunction.

Hi,
Just had the same problem as you on a V40, except side/parking lights not working either. Replaced the CEM (£85+VAT) from Lea Valley. All cured now. Cheers, Flingel. |

Foglights
Thanks for the replies guys.
This is a stand alone unit, not mounted to any circuit board. It controls both the front and rear fog lights and is located on its own above the instrument panel if you take it out. CEM's were only fitted to 99model year onwards to my knowledge and prior to that they had this unit. Im starting to think it must be an earthing problem as have pretty much tried everything else! Any more thoughts welcome. Cheers, Martin. |
