Tim, well done you've found the parts.

A general point re parts. I use some of the alternative suppliers. But as well as the various alternative suppliers, it is worth "making frinds with" a Volvo parts department near to where one lives, and to compare prices with alternative parts suppliers. Some Volvo parts prices are astronomical. But sometimes a genuine part from a dealer can be cheaper than alternative supplier items. Some parts, such as Cambelts, are cheap from Volvo and better or far easier to use.

Often a Volvo dealer will give a discount if one mentions belonging to this forum. My usual parts department happily put things on the van for me as if I were trade ... very useful for heavy items. And if we don't buy anything from the dealers, they might not still be there when we really need them.

Cheers for the post Stephen. I'll agree with you there, I've got Snows Volvo local to me who the family went to see last week, as I'm in the process of swinging the parents into Volvo ownership as well, but for a V70 estate. The chap who we spoke to at our Salisbury dealership was madly into classics much like I am, so if I need another part I shall give him a ring - I did say I owned a 240, I remember him saying I should 'keep it on the road for as long as I can'. I don't blame him!

I'll give Snows a shout next time I need a part, and I'll mention that I'm on the VolvoForums group. Neat.
