Cruise Control
Does anyone out there know if it's possible to retro-fit cruise control to my '98 945 (2.3 LPT / manual)? I'm not sure if any UK 940s had this fitted from new. Ay help and advice much appreciated.

RE: Cruise Control
Tim,
Yes it is possible and I am just waiting to do the same - need the time and the weather. See George Holmer's site for some good instructions or if you are VOC member, look at the Technical Driver (115/6?)article as a guide. Note that the throttle spindle is model (engine) specific, the Control Unit (computer) can be either the 9 pin or 14 pin and if you are buying bits on ebay, they will assume that your 940 is prefitted (ie wired)for the cruise and they tend to just include the bits rather than the connectors. As you have a manual, you will need two of the switches, one each for the brake and clutch. You will also need the control switch stalk but a 740 will fit a 940. A 960 contro won't fit (as far as I could work out) the 940. I have the wiring diagrams if you need them. George made up his own loom but I was told by Hildenborough theirs would be £28 plus shipping. Good Luck Tony
