Other: International volvo meeting liege-spa belgium 15-17th aug

We attended the IVM last week in our 145.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable event with some great cars from all over Europe.

The event started on Friday with a guided tour around Liege including the amazing modern railway station - Google it if you've never seen it - it's incredible!

On Saturday around 80 cars met in the main square in the centre of Liege where we received our goody bags and excellent road books for a 75km scenic drive through The Ardennes to the racing circuit at Spa Francochamps.

We parked in a dedicated area and made our way to the pit area where the guided tours began. Afterwards we enjoyed a superb buffet lunch in the Brasserie overlooking the start-finish straight.

Suitably refreshed we set off on a different route back to Liege where we all had a complimentary drink in a handy café.

In the evening a "Gala Dinner" of traditional Swedish food was laid on in the Volvo dealer in Liege.

Sunday was the day of the show in the Parc du Sept Heures in Spa. More than 100 Volvos attended. The informal atmosphere was most enjoyable and many members of the public wandered through the lines of cars.

As the only UK visitors we were made extremely welcome and the old 145 drew lots of interest.

The IVM is in Switzerland next year - it'd be good to have a UK contingent in attendance.

As a newbie to participating in the forum and meetings, its good to see the varied collection of Volvo's at the meeting from established classics through to modified and stock modern cars. Whereabouts is next year's meeting in Switzerland?
