Injectors
I was recently reading an article on modifying a BMW 2.5 lump by sticking a high flow fuel pump in the tank and fitting injectors from some uber-Ford engine.
What does this achieve and could I say swap my fuel pump about and stick fuel injectors from a larger engine in my 2.0 block? I think the fuel injectors they used were from a 5.0 lump so any knowledge would be appreciated thanks

Extra fuel is a bad thing unless it's matched with extra air! Need a super or turbo on there too!

Like mark480 said it is not as simple as just a big pump and injectors, if it was we would all be at it. With more fuel you need more air to get a good bang.
With that bigger bang you get more stress on the pistons, con rods, head gasket etc. And to get more air in there you need a turbo so lower compression pistons are needed. So not as simple, and that is without looking at the ECU. |

well spotted is was a turbo conversion.
Ive heard talk of swappin the internals ie the pistons in a 2.0 block to that of the T5. Was this just pipe dreams of someone or is it theoretically possible. As for ECU im going standalone system anyway with mine and am just interested in my options

You won't get that much bigger of an engine in the 440! I would keep your 2.0 litre and do a turbo conversion or stick the 1.7 turbo in from the 1.7 turbo in the 400 range, this gives 170 bhp upwards just with an ECU tweak with MASSES of torque!

The theory was to take the pistons from a t5 to lower the compresion. Some guy was rambling on about it to me once. That way the engine would be no bigger.
I have thought though about the old engine swap. We had a renault megane 225 engine and box the other day and I though about that. Cutting lumps out of the car and welding extra bits in holds no fear for my buddy
