Wonder if anyone can help me. Have had the failure problem with the speedo cluster on my 2002 V70 BiFuel which I am sending to Volvodiagnostic (Lukas) for repair (Found after a search on the forum). Problem I will then have is clearing the SRS airbag message. I live in France and the local main dealer wants 200 euros for doing this. I can buy on e-bay from numerous sources a Vida/Dice tool for between £66 to £99. But some sellers say the software for this will only run on Windows 7 professional. I only have Windows 7 home premium. Can anyone tell me if the software will run on 7 HP or does if really need the professional version. Alternatively are there any readers near to me in France (I am close to Gueret in the Limousin) who can help me out.

I am afraid it is bad news, first you need either Professional or Ultimate BUT there is a way round which will get you sorted and it will mean you can use your laptop for other things without Vida (which doesn't play nicely with other programmes) mucking it up!

The solution is to go the hosting site and download seven files. They are each over a GB except the last one so use an ethernet cable connection to your modem - 3x faster than WiFi connection. Download each file to your desktop for easy location. Then check each file has downloaded without corruption (Md5) and then use an unzipped (7Zip is free) to extract each file in turn to the same directory (e.g. C:\"user name"\VM). On completion you will have a Virtual Media player file with Vida installed in Windows XP Service Pack 3. You don't need to update any of the windows files, or install a AV programme and do not upgrade IE beyond version 8.

Here is the link to the files: see bobthebuilding100000's post

If you have any problem finding the files or downloading them, PM me or post and I will give you links to the same files at Dropbox. Salut! a bonne chance!

Many thanks for that. I'll give it a go and let you know how I get on, but first I have to update an old XP laptop that I havn't used for a while
