When I used tbe Telepass in Italy I stuck it next to the rear view mirror on the passenger side. Given differebt vehicle sizes and the width of the toll lanes there will be plenty of scope to move it's position andit still be recognised.

I have heard of people waving their "tag" around in the car until the barrier lifts - if it works it is great, if it doesn't it can be a pain.
I could do the same if the worst comes to the worst.. stick my hand out of the sunroof and wave it about til the tag beeps!

On the subject on V70 Manual and fancy shapes for headlights that we are to copy etc. Local V recommend that we copy shapes as per hand book and locate in approximate position as per hand book as the guiding dots are indeed not present...
