Default Volvo V70 Seat / Seat Base Cover Removal & Replacement

Evening all!

My Volvo V70 unfortunately had a rip/flaky bit from rubbing or something might of got caught by previous owner on my drivers seat base. However I was going to get it replaced and a new part stitched in or did consider a brand new replacement until I found out the price! But got lucky and someone was selling a replacement volvo base they had removed from their passenger side on a certain auction site.

But how do you remove the seat cover currently on their? Simple I think, but thought I would ask first before trying! PLUS its raining like its never rained before....

The first thing I'd say is that it's not a job to do with the seat in the car.
You're best to use Haynes if you've never removed your seat before, as there are little knacks to undoing stuff so you don't snap bits of trim or breaking any wires.
The absolute top priority is to have ignition off for 30 mins and then disconnect the negative lead on the battery before doing anything, so if your seat is electric, make sure it's in a position for you to access all the fixings for removal.
The hog rings for removing the cover are (pun intended) a pig.
I used long nose pliers to get inside them and pry open.
On reassembly, I then just used strong cable ties instead.
