Hairyapple appeals to anyone who can Please decode my type designation code for me on my 1962 Volvo 122. The Connecticut authorities will not allow me to register it because the # the folks in California chose to put on the title as the VIN # does not exactly match any number on the car. The Calif. # is actually a composite of one of the type plate numbers plus the production year and this is way to complicated for our local uniformed nazis. If I am reading the service manual correctly one of the numbers on the type plate is actually the chassis #. Is that correct and which is it? My 67 has it stamped right onto the firewall(bulkhead) that's progress.
