How low you wanting to go?
I asked ages ago for same.
Not much second hand stuff available.
Classic Swede on here has new stuff competitively priced.
Running some of his springs on front with Koni inserts.
Rears not done yet as want new shocks.

He's got shortened dampers too.
Other than that your into competition stuff or coilover conversion!

Kilen of Spax springs will take it down 40mm from www.partsforvolvos.co.uk

Shocks. I used Gaz ones from www.gaz-shocks.co.uk but you may need to contact them direct.

Has anyone fitted coilovers to a v40 and how did they compare to just changing springs n shocks . The set I'm looking at are 30% uprated and variable 20-90 mm drop

You'd get a better response here http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=17

I ran cheap coilovers on my V40 and they sucked so much I swapped them out for H&R springs. Never buy FK coilovers.
