Default Can't open my trunk!!

Hello yesterday my battery was dead so I took it out and brought it to be charged. I closed the trunk! Now my battery is charged but I can't open my power trunk because there is no power! I tried to hook up jumper cables to the engine area posts but... It gave power to the inside of the car but not to unlock the trunk.. The drivers side door lock would not turn in either direction...I don't know if that is a safety issue or not. Please help me! Thank you in advance for all of the help!! thank you! My car is a 2000 S80t6

I know you've got it sorted now, but it's worth having a look to see it there is an emergency lock on the boot (trunk) lid, look up above number plate, there may be a small removable panel with a conventional keylock behind it. It's certainly fitted on some UK models.

This is designed for emergency access to the battery should there be no power for the central locking.

@TFALLEN, if one of the door open micro switches has stuck it leaves the interior lights on along with the red door side marker lights, this is enough to kill a fully charged battery over a week, even the glove box light is enough load to discharge the battery over seven days.

Get under the car and connect a wire to the large cable going to the starter motor this needs to be positive, connect the negative to the cars chassis/ subframe, you can use these two points to charge the battery up or connect a second battery to them so the remote will work - Mike
