'89 740 turbo ECT pinout at ECU ?
I thought they were at 5 and 13, but on mine they seem to be at 2 and 5. I'm relatively new at Volvos and the wiring diagrams don't seem consistant. Does the 2 pin make sense? It's dark now so tomorrow I get the ECU #. The problem is intermittant ( solidy bad the last couple of days ) but a relatively stable idle ( sometimes stalls) , little power off idle ( not enough to want to drive far from home ).
It might be separate problems but when I rev the motor I get lots of black smoke and even when she is running good 10mpg in town.
Throttle, air sensor looks good. When I removed the Temp sensor the engine speads up! Pinching the return line from the fuel pressure regulator has little effect as does removing the vac line to the regulator.
More tomorrow if needs be.
