940 SE auto ENGINE CUTOUT
Help. A little while ago my 940 let me down and the members here gave me some useful advice. I was back on the road or so I thought. My problem is that I could be driving along quite happily and the next all the warning light come on and no power at all. After a few minutes I am able to restart the car and continue my journey. Before when I had this problem my emissions light came on and 121 and 232 fault codes were diagnosed. I have changed the AMM unit, cleaned the idle valve, and changed my oxygen sensor. I am now worried that I cannot go on long journeys for fear of cutting out. I thought there might be a fault with the fuel pump in the tank, so before starting the car turn on the ignition a couple of times to prime it. I thought that this would cure it. Once the car is warm it drives like a dream but yesterday it let me down in the high street at lunchtime. It doesn't do this everytime but since my last plea for help it has let me down 3 times. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

RE: 940 SE auto ENGINE CUTOUT
there is a problem which occurs in the distributor ONLY at a specific temperature. Friend would break down at the same roundabout every morning, wait 5 minutes ,start it and it would run great all day ...that is until the next time!!!! It was the distributor hall sensor and because it only fails at a very specific temperature it was impossible to trace. Hope this helps. I think eurospares may do them but before coughing up cash read any other suggestions as to what it may be!! Cheers Nigel
