Torque settings.
Hi There,
Is there a more comprehensive list of torque settings than those in the Haynes manual. I am in the process of checking my bolts are still tight and the manual seems a bit vague. For example it only lists one torque setting for the front end ball joint when there are also four bolts holding it on. Thanks James |

Haynes just repeats what's in the Green books but there maybe some missing. Nowdays, many of the nuts are replaced with nylocks, including the ones you mention. At a guess these should be fine at 40-45 ft/lbs as long as the mating surfaces are clean and rust free. The castle nut is 35-40 plus split pin if that is what you have.

Thanks guys.
You mention the workshop manuals. Do you have any details on what ones relate to the estate so I can try getting hold of them as well? |

The workshop manuals cover the estate as 2 Door and 4 door saloons, there is no seperate manual for estates the only difference obviously is the rear body and fittings and the rear axle/suspension. The club sell a cd rom of Amazon workshop manuals £25.00 to members £30.00 to non members contact Chris Wickers clwickers@aol.com they will be on sale at the National Rally on Sunday 16th Hatton Country World CV35 8XA
