Default Vacuum Tree leak

Hi all,

been a while since i have been on but my tank is getting on a bit now 19 years with 265k mile on her.

Anyway i have purchased all the PCV kit to do but at present due to weather and time replaced most of the hoses and rubbers on the vacuum tree.

The problem I now seem to have is that the vacuum tree still have the same thickness hose connectors but all the new connect hoses have a large bore and generally thinker. Also my plastic hoses which were original were white, now yellow with age, so replaced with the replace plastic black hose when i was ordering my bits.

All seem to got together EXCEPT i leak like a sieve on the vacuum tower. The new rubber seal compared to the old one doesn't seem up for the job.

So my question is should i just use a rubber/gasket sealant on all my hoses.

I did replace my O2 sensor with Bosch/OEM and at present have an idle of 1050 to 1100, when cold to warm.

Would the leaking but the major course of this due to my Vacuum issue or is the O2 sensor contributing to the problem?

Thanks,

Mark
