V70 2.4T transmission fault codes
If the 1997 Euro V70s have the same OBD2 arrangement as USA versions, the transmission fault codes probably cannot be read by generic OBD2 scanners. Generic scanners will only read engine codes on 1997-1998 cars. The only device that will read and reset the transmission codes is the Volvo scan tool or VOL-FCR software from Ilexa.

My luverley gearbox.
Drained and refilled the fluid, twice. Apparently the oil was crap. Had the auto transmission warning light reset and it was like new...........for a day. Then back to the normal antics. Had ordered 'Lubeguard' earlier (see earlier posts) and when it arrived I thought sod it, never mind the 1 ounce to a quart, and tipped the lot in the box. About 15 seconds later the GB was absolutely normal and has been ever since. What can I say? Well, I could say that now it has a bit of trouble starting. Must be the start solenoid wherever that is!

I've seen similar results with a product called Lucas Stop Slip. Sometimes the liquid approach isn't a con and it does do the job: at least for a while!
Was the lubeguard really thick stuff that took an age to get into the box? Chris...
