PCV breather box - HELP!!
Ive started to change the breather box on my 1996 850 estate. I did my research, bought all the bits and started to take everything off but have run into a problem.
I have taken off/loosened all the inlet manifold bolts, but the manifold just wont come free. I've tried and tried. It appears that the only thing holding it on is a rigid, gold/bronze half inch pipe, which runs from the bottom of the inlet manifold (on the right hand side as you look into the engine) to the exhaust manifold (i think). Does anyone know what this pipe is? Does it need to come off? How does it come off? it is very hard to get at. thanks in advance. I really am an amateur!! |

Did you take the bold out underneath the manifold?
You can see this one when you look up from underneath the car |

As above mate there is a bolt under the manifold that holds it too the block via a bracket it also retains the oil dipstick pipe in position so you know where to look

I have taken two bolts from underneath the manifold. One holding the dipstick and one other. The manifold is loose on the studs and will pull forard a bit, but something is preventing it coming off completely. It looks to me like that pipe i described. I'm baffled!
