Default 850 Tdi engine and gear box in and out - best way?

Hi Guys

Problem with the gear box or engine and both have to come out.

Whats the beat way to do it?

Its on the drive way and I have an 1.5 tonne engine crane.

Thanks in advance DDN

Any ideas on a D5 V70 in the same boat let me know.

Wow! That's the way you do it on the MMC Smart car... I guess the method scales up to something bigger and heavier, eh!?

That way has a ton of advantages, it's be really easy to replace bushes and such while the whole front engine assembly is out for one!

Chris...

Would it help to temporarily fit a brace across the the strut top mounts to stiffen the shell when lifting?

Regards Paul.
