Default V70 handbrake sticky when wet

HI all, Having owned an earlier 97 model V70 some years ago I recently acquired an 06 V70 D5 which I love. It's like an old friend with a facelift that has finally returned home. Anyway one slight issue. That is the handbrake.
When left over on a rainy wet night the handbrake seems to stick on release as if the pads or shoes have rusted to the disc or hub. Put it in gear let the clutch out slight bang and we are away. Is this a sign of bad things to come that I have read about on this forum ? Also, I live on a hill and when the handbrake is applied the car rolls forward/backward just a little before the handbrake works. Is this normal ?

Time to take a look and see what is going on.
I had similar symptoms and sometimes even had to revers car to free hand brake. Long story short I was VERY lucky, lineings came adrift from shoes on one side. reading some of the horror stories with hand brake on here I now have the hubs off at least sign of anything abnormal.

Regards Paul.

Now is it the handbrake? or could it be the disc pads staying on. Can you leave it in gear (manual box) with the handbrake off to see if you still get the same symptoms, eliminating the handbrake. I've had this before after washing the car and the discs go rusty and you get the clonk as you drive away
