V50 Boot Keeps Opening On Its Own
Dear All.
Yet another issue. Can someone help? Almost, but not every time I start my diesel V50 - as I turn the key and the engine starts to crank, the boot pops open. Initially I thought that I may be catching the button on the key. I have definitely ruled that out. I have tried the spare key - same thing happens. My friend who owns a local back street garage has plugged his diagnostic equipment in, and it shows up no faults. This is driving me crazy! Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks, John.

Have a quick look at this LINKY!
I had a similar problem but only experienced it for short period and it has been fine ever since. If you continue to have trouble then you can get a new micro switch for approx £15 - £20, if dealers start quoting prices of about £70 then this is for a complete full handle change of which would need colour coded to your car too. Once upon a time Volvo only used to do the complete handle but now you can just get the inner part which is much much cheaper. |

Hi. Yes this does sound very similar but mine only does it when the engine is cranking (intermittently at that).
I know what you are saying about the Microswitch and I do appreciate that it is a common problem, however mine works and doesn't activate at any other time other than at start-up??? Any other idea's before I replace it? Thanks, John.

Thanks. I'll try that later and let you know the outcome. John.
