Does anyone have this fitted? If so do you find it useful?

i've seen it and it could be invaluable if you have restricted vision getting out of your drive across a pavement and sticking your nose out past parked cars into a main road every day ! Otherwise you wouldnt need one ...

I have it fitted, don't use it a lot but have found it useful when driving out of blind junctions. Looking back though I don't really think its worth the money, think it was about £300 fitted.

Do a search on this forum, I remember a chap showing the front cameras functionality, before and after, when emerging onto a main road, was impressive....

I've got front & rear cameras, the rear camera is great will have it again without a second thought.

The front I have used a few times and to be honest the picture isn't that clear and I'm really not sure it was worth the extra money. If you have a really bad drive or junction that you use often then maybe, but for me I'd rather have Active Bending Lights, Bliss, Electric Seats, DAB etc. over the Front Camera.

It would be on my list of likes for my next car, but very near the bottom of the list.

I have a couple of picture in my Gallery of the Front Camera in action, so take a look at those.

I've got one fitted to our XC60 and find it invaluable for pulling out of our right side road on to the main road. Would I have it again? Yes but not top of the list if we didn't live here.

I have the front camera on my XC60 and the person posting the photos is (by pure coincidence) one of my neighbours who has the same problem as me: restricted view when pulling out of the driveway.

The camera is great for that - it stops you having to edge slowly forward out of the drive and causing people (speeding and/or not paying attention) to swerve or brake. The XC60 has a long bonnet so it was a bit of a problem without - not insurmountable (we would have coped fine) but definitely a nice to have.

We do use it in other places as well - at my kids' school, pulling out of the car park the view can often be quite restricted due to parked cars. The camera gives that extra comfort that you have seen things before sticking your nose out.

Depends on your circumstances - definitely a useful option for me but might well not be for other people.
