2005/2006 S60/V70 Headlights
Hi,
Do the newer 2005/2006 cars have a plastic headlight lens? and if you break them can you replace the plastic or do you have to buy a whole new headlight? Thanks.

i been told a headlight lense on a S60 can be replaced...but only the glass types..the process requires alot of patience..abit too tedious as have read on a different forum..

I think the glass on the newer models can be replaced. See link below:-

Answer to the question is all MY05+ headlights excluding the R, are made from perspex or PC, if this is damaged the only option is to purchase a whole new headlamp. All R headlamps and MY 04 and earlier are glass and can be replaced. My question was slightly out of context as I did not mean for my new car and a simple tap reveals that they are glass.

I have an 02 S60 and the h/lamp lenses are a bit dusty on the inside. Unless there is an easy way to dismantle and clean I will leave them as 'tedious' doesn't fit into my life at the mo!

Alot of time and patience ia needed Marty...there are 2 to 4 clips to undo and a adhesive seal to break using gentle heat...which should release the lense from headlamp body...and after doing what you wat to do ..just a matter of putting it back together again but using new adhesive after cleaning the mating sufaces..

You can replace them as far as I know, just a long job requiring patience.
