Plastic cover will have fallen off the tabs that release the back. I think I posted a picture somewhere some time ago.

If you lift up the cover for the battery/jack etc you can see the bit where the black tabs go up against to release the back rest and you can manually release them.

Is there a similar fix for the third row seat occupants?

Anyone know of a way to fix the problem of the headrest not folding down on the third row seats? I had to take the back off mines and manually release the headrest, I fear the Bowden cable may be broken

Hi Ally,

I had a similar problem recently, and my DIY fix is still going.

Yes indeed, the cable was broken!

- remove the back off the seat
- remove seat covers. I could not remove covers over the headrest,so I just lifted it over to give access.
- Behind the plastic cover below the headrest, I saw the cable end had snapped.
I removed the inner cable and replaced it with a gear cable from a bicycle. I then threaded the cable end though the hole in the release at the headrest and put a bolt on to stop it coming through

Worked really well, no need to wait for full cable from volvo and bike cable only cost a couple of quid. Should have taken pics!

Thanks Joe, that sounds like a plan although as I remember, i couldn't see my cable and you will already know you cant get to it, so threading a new one sounds good
