Angry Nitrogen filling ripoff

Just a word of warning:
Next time you get your tyres changed have a close look at the bill, Odds are there is a line in there for 'Nitrogen Filling' for the princely sum of £1.50 (or so) per tyre.
You didn't ask for it and they didn't fill the tyres with nitrogen (green tyre caps)
so you are just being ripped off.
A certain tyre FITting company did this 6 months ago to me & I complained. got my money back and £20 voucher. So new tyres last week (Black Circles), time to use the vouchers for the fitting! Toerags did it again, got a refund. So I have complained again. Last time I use them.
Doesnt sound a lot £3? But multiply it up by average no of cars/day; no of days; and no of branches and you come in at £13M per year even assuming 15% get the nitrogen they ask for. Nice earner direct on the bottom line for them!
Cheers

I always fill my tyres with about 74% nitrogen, 21% oxygen and 3 or 4% carbon dioxide, and the odd bit remaining from anything that's around.

It always works, and never costs anything ...

Sorry to correct you but Air is usually 78% Nitrogen, 21% oxygen, 1% Argon & other inert gases with C02 only constituting 0.1- 0.3%!
