Hi Folks
Considering buying a V70 or a V50 estate with the D5 engine. When were the last models produced that did not have the D.P.F. I want to avoid the problems that people have. Failing that ,I understand that it is possible to do a DPF removal and a software update. I want to get a geartronic 163 bhp model, possibly 05-07, any other advice would be most welcome.
Regards
Bob Simpson

I don't think the d5 has dpf issues. I've had 2 upto 140k with no issues. I think it's the 2.0 PSA ford engine that has the chemical cleaner and the replacement at 80k but I cannot say for sure. With the d5 a regular good run will keep it fine in my experience.
