Make sure you have a set of these innerhex. Bolts for fitting the pressure plate. They can be a pain in the B.

All the best.

A clutch kit is normally taken to include the pressure plate, driven plate, and release bearing. But while you have it apart do check the condition of the pilot bearing inside the flywheel.

I have never given these an awful lot of thought - the traditional sintered bronze bush normally lasts forever, and still does its job, which isn't much, even if worn.
But yesterday by coincidence I was dismantling an old 240 engine and removed the clutch cover, and the pilot bearing fell apart. I had no idea that the Volvo bearings were roller ball bearing not solid. That car did about 440,000 miles on the clutch, and it still worked perfectly. But there was a squeaky noise when operating, which I can now see was down to the pilot bearing not the release bearing.

Just a thought.

Thank you Clifford Pope for your advice.
Mine makes also a squeaky noise when operating the clutch, especially after engaging the 2-nd gear when depressing the pedal, in case of a mild angled steep road.
